Zone 2: Valletta Harbour

Tanks 14, 31 & 32

On entering the Grand Harbour zone, you will find yourselves surrounded by a beautiful mural of Malta’s majestic harbour and more local fish including the sea bream, mottled grouper (Mycteroperca rubra, Cerna) and more.

The two tanks opposite the Marsaxlokk area display local invertebrates such as the Mediterranean slipper lobster and the first of the coral reef fish series amongst which you will see lionfish, pufferfish and more.

Before entering the next zone you’ll also get a glimpse of the Indian Ocean which displays fish such as the Emperor Angelfish, clownfish, blue-green Chromis (damsels) and many more. This tank emits an array of colour and diversity from the sandy bottom all the way to the surface.
