The Malta National Aquarium is a truly unique venue. It offers a relaxing atmosphere with breath-taking unobstructed views of St. Paul’s Islands making it a perfect venue for a variety of functions from birthday celebrations, weddings receptions, corporate product launches and for any special occasion.
The complex is based on a number of facilities and outlets based around the Malta National Aquarium.
The Reef Giftshop
The Reef Giftshop is open to the public during our opening hours and offers a variety of children’s’ toys, games, books and Aquarium souvenirs.
Upon entering the Aquarium you can take the opportunity to have your photo taken. With variety of backgrounds to chose from including festive themed background during Halloween, Christmas and Carnival. Photos are displayed on screens in the Giftshop where you can purchase them. Well presented in an information booklet, making them perfect memorabilia!

La Nave Bistro
The La Nave Bistro forms parts of the Malta National Aquarium complex. The bistro prides itself in having a casual and calm atmosphere. La Nave Bistro enjoys nice views of St Paul’s islands, Comino and Gozo. It is open every day and night for both lunch and dinner.
Patrons can enjoy dining overlooking panoramic sea views on the terrace or indoors under the wooden interior. La Nave Bistro also compliments for a refreshing drink on the terrace or for a hot coffee indoors, on colder days.
Catering for frequent visitors of the Malta National Aquarium, we thrive on being family friendly and also oriented towards the younger family members. The menu ranges from the traditional Mediterranean pizzas, to pasta, grills and salads. We offer a kids menu for the little ones whilst also catering towards dietary needs be it gluten-free, vegetarian or lactose free.
The venue can also cater for large groups ranging from buffets, receptions, conferences, staff dinners, birthday parties. Contact us and we’ll accommodate your needs and preferences.
Pjazza San Pawl
Right outside the Malta National Aquarium you will find Pjazza San Pawl featuring an open public space to admire stunning views of St Paul’s islands and the open sea. There is a kiosk in the Pjazza serving drinks and snacks which is open to the public.
The Playground
Based around our nautical theme, the playground is set out around various characters, creatures and sea vessels to delve and travel through. Whether climbing near our octopus or going through the submarine or riding on our clownfish, it’s an experience which you can’t miss out on.
The playground is free and open for use to all 24 hours/ 7 days a week and has become one of the best locations on the Island to enjoy a light snack and drink whilst watching your little ones having fun in the playground.
Our playground is like no other in Malta, with intricate detail and a creative nautical theme. Best, it enjoys panoramic outdoor views!
Café del Mar Malta
Café del Mar is open mainly during the summer months between April and October as a beach club and restaurant for lunch and dinner. Throughout the winter months it is open on Sundays for lunch. It is famed for an infinity pool enjoying panoramic sea views, colourful sunsets and a relaxed atmosphere. It also hosts a number of international DJs in the summer months at night, with a capacity of up to 4000 people.
The Café del Mar franchise was brought to Malta in the summer of 2013 and it is located in Qawra Point, San Pawl il-Bahar. Café Del Mar originally is a small cafe in Ibiza famed for its world renowned chill out music and the flocking of tourists enjoying cocktails during the sunset. The way the Maltese franchise works is slightly different as during the day it operates a 500 capacity lido.
The restaurant has a selection of grills, pasta, pizza, salads and sushi too. The venue also caters for a variety of events ranging for hen’s, bachelor’s, corporate events, weddings, buffets, receptions, standing or seated dinners too.
