The Statue was moved 10 years later further out to sea and is now providing habitat to soft sponges and marine species like the damselfish.
One of the most popular dive sites in Malta is the statue of Jesus Christ that was originally sunk close to St. Pauls Islands in order to commemorate the pope’s visit to Malta. The original statue stands 3m tall and weighs 13 tons, made from fiberglass. You can see our Replica of this popular statue in Tank 20.
